I’ve never heard of it done on the back of the neck 🤷🏻‍♀️ with both my pregnancies they just drew blood

Does it run in either of the families?

Can you maybe retake the screening? I would think they would do another test or ultrasound if it came back abnormal but 🤞 everything works out

Oh really? :/ yes. It’s what they do in the first screening as i know to be common in pretty much all women. You can choose wether or not you’d like to do the screening though. It doesn’t run in either families. I will ask my ob if i could do a re test. Thank you 😢

@tearsatorres, did your results come back abnormal? Or were the tests results fine from the beginning?

How do they do it that way? I got the blood done. I heard other scans are not reliable. I heard of many thinking their babies had it and they came out fine.

When I did my blood screening my test came back low risk but when I went for my anatomy scan at 21 weeks, the doctor found two soft markers for D.S. One is the back of her neck, which actually raised the percentage of babygirl having D.S., ofcourse I was a mess I even did the amniocentesis had many ultrasounds. One week and a half of waiting results came back negative for D.S. But my point of all of this is just to keep positive and have faith for your baby! Little one is strong 💪

My baby tested positive for spina bifida. The high risk ultrasound people said he looked great and the specialist ruled it out. Gave him a 0.06% chance of having it. When he tested positive, I did my research, kept my cool, and eventually became okay with the fact he might have it. Always know what to expect
