So I finally told my job that I’m pregnant now that I’ve reached my second trimester, and my boss said she wants a note every month saying I can still work or I will be terminated, I feel like she is making my pregnancy into an illness and I feel extreme discriminated, Also I have asked others who are pregnant and who have been pregnant there and no one else has been told they need to do this, I’ve worked through all my pregnancies and never had a job tell me I need a note to keep working because I am pregnant, I feel like they pick and chose who they want to pick on , does this sound normal to anyone has anyone else experienced something like this I honestly am ready to contact a lawyer I 100% feel like it’s discrimination what do y’all think ?

@yes2jess617, Lol, I was very upset when she said this also I was so confused, I am going to talk with her again on Monday so I can make sure I have the right proof but I think She May have said it in my email again after she had already said it to me I have to double check so I might have the proof I need and your so right I may as well let her fire me and collect me and baby can rest I’ll sue and keep going to school, I will find another job when the time comes!!! Thanks luv I appreciate your advice !

Okay they definitely can't do that. It's 100% discrimination and if she knew her shit she would know not to ask you to do that. Honestly, have proof that she's making you do this either through a text message or something because I guarantee you she's looking for a reason to get rid of you as soon as you start calling out for pregnancy reasons you are out the door. I say let them fire you collect unemployment and sue them for discrimination.. im pissed.lol

Just read your previous comments. I think you should definitely call your state and/or lawyer up

Ask for a copy of the policy since they claim it's their policy

@lnkedupmommy, I did ask her and she said it was there policy, but no one else has had to do this as well as she can not make that call if my doctor wanted me out of work she would give me a note I don’t feel like I should have to provide a new note every month

I believe she just may be asking because-she wants to make sure you arent high risk pregnancy i mean why didnt u ask why she needed it every month? A note is fine every month is just wierddd. I actually offered my job if they needed me to bring in a note, they said no its okay but ur boss is strange yea lol i say ask her why every month?

@akita_mommy, well the boss is hr it’s a private owned business so the admin. And hr are the bosses in my facility, so guess I will contact the state tomorrow because there is no one higher up to go to beside the admin who is also the owner and she is his family member so what she says goes

Can you contact you work’s HR department if there is one? That’s definitely workplace discrimination and unacceptable. I’m so sorry you’re being treated this way!

Creeped out! A new guy at work just tickled the back of my neck! I cringed and told him "Don't ever touch me, that weirds me out!" On Monday he pulled my braid as I was grabbing parts for him, I also told him don't ever do that. Ugh. I don't feel comfortable working with him EVER! A coworker told me that when she walked past he said "what's cooking good looking". I feel he doesn't deserve to work here. I can't feel like I'm going to be harassed at work. Like who does that?? I'm so creeped out and grossed out. Ugh. What would you do in this situation? I've reported this to my manager.
