Then how can they prove that you owe them money? Sounds like they are just trying to get money from you.

Go on your credit report perhaps credit karma and go to public records and if anything it should be posted there

If they have no proof then you don't have to pay. Tell them unless they have proof, you will not be paying a single dime.

I would keep looking into other places and just wouldn't put them down as a recent landlord or residence on the next application.

Do it say what county courthouse ? I was able to find the county under my public records for which I owed and contacted them and the county should be able to tell u the amount and ur options. @nalahoney

@nalahoney Ok Yeah cuz u would be most likely paying the county and then it go to the landlord or the landlord attorney. But the county will give u the info.
