We’ve been nursing for 15 months, and he is showing no sign of weaning. His latch sucks right now because he’s teething, so I’m not sure how much longer I’m willing to go 😞
@johnsonarriel24, the reason I havent weaned her yet is because I wanted her to wean herself. It’s been tough but it’s too hard for me to hear her cry and beg me for boob. Plus my goal was to be able to tandem nurse
@johnsonarriel24 your 2 year old is almost 3 also. I have a 1 year old that's almost 2 and I plan to work much harder at getting him to wean when he does turn 2 because I feel like he will understand more then. But for now I'm taking the slower gentler route.
@lifewithlynniejade88 well u guys definitely make my decision to stop at 6 months alot easier lol...and wats this i here about weening? my newborn drinks from bottle, breast, n sucks a binky n between ...
@cajunpeach89 thats sweet. but i have to admit i couldnt imagine nursing my 2yr old...she has been pretty talkitive n alert sence she was 1....and with all them teeth! it would b like nursing an adult lol
@johnsonarriel24 I give him cow milk but he doesn't like it much. And if I pump my supply will go back up. He also prefers it straight from the source. It's not always that simple. I've been working on slowly weaning him since about 15 months. He's down to only nursing for nap and bed time most days. There are also days when he isn't feeling well, whether if it's because of teething or something else, that I give in a little and let him have it for just a little bit for comfort through out the day. He also won't take a pacifier, he broke himself from that when he was about 7 months old. I am his 'lovey', he never got attached to a particular toy or blanket, so I'm that comfort that most other kids get from those.
21+ months and he shows no signs of being ready to wean. I on the other hand am ready for him to wean. I'm giving him till 2 then finding some way to dry up my milk.
