@akita_mommy, that’s what I’m saying!! if it’s her first night that’s horrible and I don’t think I would put up with it especially that far along!!! if she has been doing it for awhile and it’s just a bad night that’s kinda different still not right but maybe just short staffed and what not but I’d be hunting down someone higher up than who ever was in charge!! Cause that’s not right!!!

@babyjjsmommy, I would go higher and tell someone there just being lazy workers if you’re still training you should be with someone not by yourself I would cover your ass because you all could get in a lot of trouble if your by yourself and not even done training yet! I’m sorry 😔 that’s really messed up and I hope these people get it trouble for it and it get easier for you and nights get better❤️

That is sexual harassment. In absolutely NO WAY is that okay or allowed to happen. In my hospital sitters are allowed to at least leave YELL for assistance, use a call light, SOMETHING. Do not sit for him again. Also, speak with the nurse manager.

Wow. Yes. That is sexual harassment. I would definitely speak to your supervisor. I would have walked out. My company I was with had a rule we weren’t allowed to leave the patient alone in the room. The handful of times I faced any kind of sexual or physical abuse I walked out and refused to be with that person again.

@ace160, @lovelily, @bamber, @mateoamsavannahgg, @tribe.of.judah, @sarahfranklinsh, @sarahfranklinsh, well the problem was, it was an ER and he was a hall patient without a call light or phone (reason I was there sitting) I had 3 patients I was sitting and couldn’t leave any of them (2 in the rooms directly in front of me) I’d never experienced this bc, hello this is my first night in ER and 3rd night training period. I didn’t know what all I was allowed to do. This patient had verbally stated one of the main reasons he was there was because he wanted to hurt people.. so I didn’t necessarily want to yell it out to a random nurse, although I did try to get someone’s attention with eye contact or ask if I could go get something so I could get to the nurses station and say something. Finally when my preceptor came back I just got up and said come here please and told her as I walked away from him. I was scared to piss the patient off and him react in some kind of aggressive way with me being 7 months pregnant, that’s why I was trying to be discreet about saying something. Then everybody is just like yell out something next time or tell him to stop (like I thought I could do that 😒 nobody warned me about what to do in these situations) I was also trying not to speak to a patient in the wrong manner so I didn’t wanna get in trouble for that either. I should’ve never been the sitter for any of them though. I was supposed to be on the floor training. The cna supposed to sit refused apparently and that’s why I got stuck there. One patient I was sitting was also a younger psych patient and I was told not to even go in the room with her earlier that shift, yet I also had to take her to the bathroom with just me and her while I was sitting 🤔

@babyjjsmommy, I’m sorry 😐 bless your heart honestly I couldn’t even imagine but yes you did the right thing not yelling out you don’t know how they will react and your baby comes first I really hope things get better for you!!!🤞

@babydiehl2016, no this was just the ER at the hospital I work at! Not even a psych unit. This man came in “claiming” to have thoughts of hurting others and himself and said he had voices in his head so he was deemed needing a sitter and I got the pleasure of being that tech.. even though it was not even supposed to be me but a woman who was supposed to be the sitter for those patients refused. I was supposed to be on the floor training but for 4-5 hours I was a sitter.. so it put me at a disadvantage for learning everything I needed to as well, which pisses me off. I’m 7 months pregnant so you can totally drink one for me 😅

@ace160, thank you, I feel like everyone was trying to make me feel crazy for not yelling and acting a fool but I was just trying to use my best judgement so I thought I did the right thing.. but over an hour of having to keep my head down and looking away to avoid seeing it was awful. And he was good at hiding it, he’d lift the sheet all the way up to his knees with everything pointed at me whenever I was alone on the hall, and if his dr or nurse spoke to him (like twice) he’d put his legs down and they apparently didn’t notice 😩😩 I was like, someone else has to see this too!

@babydiehl2016, she was some old ass cna that had apparently been there forever and a lot of the other techs hated her anyway bc she was like that.

@babyjjsmommy, I think you did your best you should have never been put in the situation I really hope you talk to someone higher up and this never happens again!

Legally your job can't fire you or discipline you for avoiding a traumatic event especially sexual harassment. You were being sexually harassed. Legally you could have walked away and if you received any disciplinary action, that's grounds to sue. There is no way in hell I would have sat and watched a man jack off in front of me. I would have just left.
