I really need to rant... so I could literally quit this job after tonight. When they say nurses take full advantage of nursing assistants and techs, they aren’t lying. I’m a damn nursing student myself and I would never treat someone “lower” than me like my bitch. I’m supposed to be training, and I’m in the ER tonight. The charge nurse keeps separating me from my preceptor and asking me to do shit I cannot do. For instance, assisting a patient who weighs 3x as much as me to a wheelchair when she cannot even hold her own weight. Yet, I was still forced to do it 7 months pregnant bc I have no help when I’m in those situations and the woman just about fell had I not caught her as much as I could and managed to get her on the bed again. This is the type of shit that makes me question whether this job is a good fit for me because it’s damn near impossible to find help and I can’t do a lot of the moving on my own. People keep getting on to me for pushing patients in beds/wheelchairs too but am I supposed to refuse?! The charge nurse is asking me to do only things that I can’t do and she doesn’t seem to like me for some reason. I mean... I’m sorry y’all hired someone who was 7 months pregnant 🤷🏽‍♀️ oh and now she’s had me sitting for 3 hours watching high risk/ suicide patients (which I was also told to stay away from) and I’ve already had to go alone in the bathroom with one bc guess what...? Nobody else is around to do it! 7 am where you at 😭
