Today's lesson for my kids: not everyone is required to like you. Just because you like them doesn't mean that they have to like you back. They're not a bad person because they don't like you, you're not a bad person because they don't like you. Some times people just don't like other people and that's ok.
All of this from an argument about how my son doesn't like this girl that says she's his girlfriend and my SD saying that since the girl likes him he HAS to like her back.

@misscoco I want the both of them to have standards but I also want them to understand that not everyone has to like them and some people won't. I don't want my son to be one of those creepy guys that expects a girl to like them just because he likes them. I also don't want my girls to think all boys should love them just because they want them to.

@misscoco I know!!! I swear I've lost count of how many times I've been called a bitch because I just wasn't interested in a guy. No way I'll let my son be like that.

@tiredmom o yea. Bitch, stuck up, all kinds of things lol. I applaud the moms that think in detail of what they say to their sons especially. Too many of them go the wrong route

@misscoco I wish more people would think stuff like that through. I always make sure my kids understand that you can't just treat people however you feel like. It doesn't matter what the other person looks like how they dress how they speak how smart or how ignorant they are you treat people like people.
