Ok so I'm a ftm that was not warned about mastitis. If any breast feeding (or just pumping) ftm that don't know what that is...Google it....its not rare... can happen to anyone and can happen whenever the f it wants To! I was unaware...it hit me like a ton of bricks...felt like I had the worst flu in the world...i was crying from pain and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Just want to throw it out there so that atleast maybe a few new mommies can be aware and prepared bc I was NOT!

I had no idea about it either. Ended up getting it about a month into breastfeeding. It was incredibly painful. I tried to pump through the pain and there was so much blood in my milk. The pain was unlike anything else.
Hang in there, mama. Have you gotten some antibiotics yet?
@lulu85_1 I'm about a month in too!! There hasn't been any blood...not sure if that's good cuz that means it's still clogged lol but I'm laying here with a heating pad on my boobs hoping to get some sleep and pump when my son eats in 2 hours and maybe I'll get somewhere with it.
I haven't taken anything but pain meds that didn't help at all...😑😭
