@momofboth I don't think they can I hate how they are changing it here they did away with all the caseworkers and now it's 10x harder to talk to someone I waited on hold for 30 mins then she told me she was going to put me on hold so she could see what she can do and she hung up on me so I had to wait on hold for another 40 mins I just wish we were rich

Oh no.... is DHS the same as Medical Assistance from the state?

Try contacting the hospital where you’re having the baby. All hospitals have some form of Charity Care where they give you discounted prices and payment plans
