I’m still completely baffled, can someone help! I had midwife of Friday they said that baby’s head is still only 3/5ths enagaged but when I went in on Monday due to pains they said that I was half a cm dilated and his head was as engaged as it was going to get till birth? I didn’t think you could start dilating at 3/5ths?

You can start dilating without baby being engaged hun, he will drop further when your waters break xxx

None of my babies engaged until i was in full labour so dont worry. If the midwife isnt concerned its fine x

It was written in my notes that I was dilating on Monday should my midwife of checked on Friday to see if it had progressed anymore? Xx

I was 3/5ths engaged the week before I went into labour, he didn't fully engage til I was in labour and they had to break my waters x

@sam.l.b they would have checked for dilation because you were having pains. On a normal midwife appointment they usually dont check.

So even if I was dilating on my normal appointment she wouldn’t of checked? X
