Is this chicken pox? He has eczema on his shoulders, but the rash on his back is different, appeared…

Chicken pox are spots filled with fluid hun it’s hard to tell from pic but if they have fluid in there’s a good chance that’s what they are. On the plus side it’s best to have them young. Hope he’s feeling ok x

If no fluid this could be a heat rash my little one has always suffered them x

I wouldn't say they where filled with fluid either, but they are slightly blistering so maybe early stage? I couldn't get a closer picture he wouldn't let me xx

@laurenjaynebutcher, Aww is he sick or got a temp? My son gets heat rash that looks like this when he has a viral infection x

@melanie-spiritmedium no to either, he had a temp once at 2am yesterday morning, had cuddles with me and some Calpol, it went and hasn't came back, but this rash was there late afternoon, and has started to spread xx

Allergic reaction maybe?

Try some sudocream it might just be an irritation

@laurenjaynebutcher, was just about to ask what @katejohnson, asked about allergic reactions? Only because with chicken pox the spots start coming out a few days after catching the virus. At least he’s not sick with it tho whatever it is x

@katejohnson thats my next guess, he had crab sticks yesterday before the rash showed so maybe it was that. Could that have caused the temp? Xx

@melanie-spiritmedium yeah chicken pox is going round his nursery hence why i thought it could be, but hes been fine in himself until last night xx

@laurenjaynebutcher, Aww so there’s a chance he’ll catch it anyway poor little thing but it’s best to catch it young than as an adult x

@melanie-spiritmedium @katejohnson ive just checked about allergic reactions and looked at photos and they are hives, his rash isnt hives, its like spots, some have little heads on them, and they have spread xx

A temperature is the first sign of a reaction,give him some piriton xx

@katejohnson he got the rash first, temp didn't come till 2am almost 12 hours later cc

@laurenjaynebutcher, If they have heads on them there’s deffo a chance they’re chicken pox, if they are the heads will become bigger and start leaking fluid. Calamine lotion works wonders for them it takes the itch away x

Ah I didn’t see the comment about the crab sticks! My son is allergic to shellfish x

@katejohnson will do, hes had crab before at a younger age and it didnt effect him at all, i really dont think its that. @melanie-spiritmedium yeah ive checked the NHS website and thats what it looks like too xx

@laurenjaynebutcher, yeah it’s probably chickenpox then hun, calamine lotion is great for any rash/spots it takes the itch out so he won’t scratch them and risk scars from it plus he can have calpol to keep his temp down x

@melanie-spiritmedium can he have the lotion alongside his eczema lotion though? Xx

@laurenjaynebutcher, Ah yeah you don’t wanna risk making the eczema worse! I’m not sure I’m not too clued up on eczema but a pharmacist in the chemist will be able to tell you or maybe the NHS website x

@melanie-spiritmedium okay, i think ill take him to the chemist in the morning, as he isn't allowed in nursery if it chicken pox and i don't want to risk taking him all the way there to be turned away! Xx

@laurenjaynebutcher, yeah I think it’s contagious until the spots stop leaking 😩 it’s a pain at least it’s not a recurring thing x

@melanie-spiritmedium i got it twice as a child and then shingles when i was 6! Ended up in hospital with it, so im a little worried about that too x

@laurenjaynebutcher, oh god! Everyone always says you can only get it once but my daughter had it twice so I know it’s possible but rare. Hopefully it’ll be your little one’s only time x

@laurenjaynebutcher, Just realised you’re pregnant too! Get some advice on how to protect yourself from it too as it can be dangerous while pregnant but I’m sure they can advise what to do to be cautious x
