Does anyone have tips for panic attacks while pregnant? I have anxiety (diagnosed by a professional not the I get nervous on planes “anxiety”). I’m pregnant with Twins and have hit a few bumps in the road. The most recent being a herniated disc that’s put me out of work even sooner than I hoped. I’ve never medicated because of what it did to my birth mother. I’ve tried meditation, deep breathes, the usual. The only thing that has helped is my husband holding me (this has always been my shelter). Now with hormones ablaze and it getting closer to them being here episodes are becoming more frequent and more severe. My husbands had to leave work early because I could not get ahold of myself. I feel weak and pathetic so if anyone has found anything small that has helps please let me know!

Yes there's this practice called grounding yourself, when you're experiencing a panic attack just sit/stand/lay down whichever you're most comfortable with at the given situation- breath in and out through your nose starting at the bottom where your toes are you're going to work your way up step by step to the top of your head describing where your physical body is- the environment telling yourself you are here and you are safe. Like "these are my toes, my toes are part of my feet, my feet are on the ground, my feet are in the grass, the the grass is green, I am here I am safe." then I'd move up to my legs. breathing through it until you reach the top of your head

If you find this doesn't work for you, you should look into hypno birthing classes, they have some great exercises that would definitely help

Im in the same situation completely. It's kinda crazy. Pregnant with twins, panic/anxiety attacks and out of work because of cancer. When I get a panic attack, I fight it. If it spirals out of control it's really hard to break from. So if ones coming, I hold my kids or my bf who are generally what break it for me. Idk what your trigger is but mine is death. So thinking about not having my kids or bf sometimes make it worse. I just tell myself I'm here now, and try to move on. The further I get into my pregnancy, the more frequent they've become. They haven't been incredibly severe luckily. I've been fighting very hard to not get to that point. Breathing through it really helps me. I refuse to take medication though. Benadryl did help me for awhile but I refuse to take anything while pregnant. My advice would be to figure out what your trigger is and start from there. Meditation is something I've never tried. Please please feel free to message me anytime you need to talk. I absolutely know your struggle! 😥

I suffer panic attacks all the time. When I was pregnant I took benadryl to help me relax a little that's how I got thru with it. Hope it can work for you and just focus on that everything that's happening to you while you having one that it's nor real and take deep breaths also try doing stuff you enjoy to do to keep your mind busy I kow it's hard I have them myself and it's hard sometimes.
