@avahcruz, im sure she wouldn’t lie about something like that , :( maybe she’s confused about how far along she really is.

It isn't common for doctors to give ultrasounds so early in pregnancy because of how intrusive it can be on the newly developed fetus increasing the risk of miscarriage, ultrasounds aren't recommended until around 7-10 weeks. So I think that's why there's that suspicion, ectopic pregnancy I don't think you'd be able to know that early but it could help her to look into more about ectopic pregnancies if she's stressing about it

Absolutely not going to see anything if she is that early. I went in at 5 weeks with my first son & we didn’t see anything; they told me the same thing scaring me to death went back 3 weeks later which would have made me 8 wks & there he was heart beat & all! They seriously anger me with that; why say something if you don’t know for sure ...

I had an Ectopic pregnancy and the dr believed I was around 4 weeks turns out I was like 2-3 weeks and on my ultrasound (vaginal ultrasound) they were able to see a little circle stuck on my tube it’s totally possible. Does she have an symptoms? Cramping? Bleeding/spotting or a pain on any side of her stomach ?

Obviously if they suspect that she’s having an ectopic pregnancy they do a little more test and further ultrasounds to be sure

I did wait until I was 6 weeks to fully make sure it was an ectopic pregnancy and sadly it was but the drs were right and it can be possible to know that early

I went in at 3 weeks and they couldn’t tell yet if it was going to be viable and also said it could be ectopic just because it was so early! I don’t think she should worry just yet. But they just don’t want her to miscarry and lead her on so early! Basically she needs to know she is so early that it can go any way at this point! Everything could be great or she could go back in in a couple weeks and nothing’s is there.

I agree with Candace ^ !! Also my dr was also able to confirm it being an ectopic pregnancy by my hcg levels I had to go in every 2 days twice only and my levels were going down .

Same thing happened with me! I was 4-5 weeks and nothing was there when i went for an ultrasound so they said thing that it could be an ectopic pregnancy so they made me do blood work , asked if i was in pain cause that’s always # 1 , but mine was just a miscarriage unfortunately.

Most likely her doctor is a bonehead, what I do know of ectopic pregnancies is sometimes the fetus leaves the tube and grows perfectly healthy
