I was taught when I was about 6 or 7. My mom taught me because she used to braid my dads hair.

That's dumb and I don't think that's the only culture that does that each has their own reason for braiding

My son wears braids in his hair. He is Mexican, Italian and German. Braids do represent a culture, the human culture.
