So Imani turned 2 on Saturday. She has been learning a new word or 2 every week but my friends kids who are the same age as her are speaking sentences at this age. I don’t know if I should be worried since she is very smart and can tell me what she wants and does fine interacting and asking me what things are. But she doesn’t say like cup or eat. More like some, this , that, no , yeah , up and down and more words but no sentences

I wouldn’t be worried as long as your baby can communicate. Some kids are more eager to speak than others. My niece would talk up a storm in daycare but would barely speak 3 words at home. Every kid is different.

@telliey, okay thank u. Because she keeps up as far as everything else and she was a quiet baby and she is also shy so sometimes I think that’s why she keeps her talking to a minimum

@imanimomma, my son is the same way. He CAN talk but he chooses when he wants to. I don’t stress it because he can communicate his needs. I know he’s younger than your daughter but again. Every kid is different
