Hiya ladies..if you're not with your unborn baby's dad what sort of things would you expect them to…

Come to all the scans and midwife appointments if he can and obviously if you want him there and let him know about any appointments or changes and maybe send a text or call every few days to see how you and bump are. Help with sorting all the baby stuff out who's buying what cot, pram etc. be involved with all the birth plan again if you want him to be! It will be difficult cuz your not together but he should still be there to a limit for the baby and as your carrying the baby you aswell xx

@isabellaboo See that's along the lines I was thinking..but I can't even get him to come to an appointment..I booked a scan because I didn't find out until quite late so the hospital ones aren't great he said he was coming and now he's changed his mind 😔 I can't get him to be there and he clearly doesn't want to be xx

@harlie_kariss, would have been able to get there if you was together? I’m not takin sides but my hubby can never get time off for midwife appointments his job just doesn’t let him and my scans I have to make really late in the day if not he wouldn’t be able to make those either.

@rachaellw Yeah He'd be able to come to some obvs not all but I wouldn't expect him to be at all of them..And the private scan is booked for after work time so he could get home and shower etc x

The problem is if he doesn't want to be involved you can't force him, does he actually want the baby? Xx

@isabellaboo I know i haven't been forcing him I've just been telling him when the appointments are and asking if he's coming or not and I don't know he says he does but then he keeps telling other people he doesn't and he's not ready so who knows 😔 xx

😔 I would just let him know about all appointments and scans and give him a text or call once a week just to say what's been happening (baby's been moving a lot etc) and if and when he's ready he then has the choice to come or reply if he doesn't then that's his choice you can't force and I guess you'll be doing it alone 😣 are his family involved atall? Or know about the pregnancy?xx

@harlie_kariss, well you’ve done all you can I think hun. The guy knows all the information, if he is any kind of man he oils be there for his unborn baby

😣 your in a difficult position, I would just let them all know about the progress and then they have the choice if they decide not to be involved then you can always say you gave them the choice and never stopped everyone xx

I would expect them to help out with taking them out, giving you a break, buy them things they need, giving them or you some money regularly and helping with himework sometimes. If he is a good dad that loves his kids no matter what then I would expect those things from him if it was myself.
