I really don't understand why my doctor is inducing me at 39 weeks. I just got scheduled for next week. Everything's been fine.. what would the reason be! All he says is that it reduces the chance of getting a c section
@juliannap people will make a lawsuit out of any thing. Saying doctor didn't warn them. So, to try to prevent such they prefer birth and or c section scheduled to prevent anything going wrong due to u not making it to the hospital in time once u go into labor. When the reality is most are in labor for hours
@taylorsmommy1017, wow that's crazy. I'm glad everything turned out to be fine! 🙏
@juliannap yeah they want to do it on their own time but also probably because you are an hour away and they want to make sure you have a safe delivery in the hospital but if you keep that in mind yourself and time your contractions right, you should be able to make it in time. I live an hour away from the hospital I'm going to as well. My doctor is scheduling me for another csection at 41 weeks if the baby doesn't come sooner which is OK because I don't want to have to be induced again
@juliannap, yeah I’d deff tell them that you don’t want to be induced they can’t make you lol
@kaela3, yup. With my son I was induced and was in labor for 36 hours. Hopefully this won't be the case and I'll have a quicker labor. I didn't have a c section with my son but my labor was just soooo long!
Shit i want my son to come before 40 weeks but i wouldn’t want to be induced either so i totally get where your coming from. My first was 3 weeks early so i have no idea when this one will come but i wouldn’t want my dr to schedule me to be induced until i was actually over due. And so many people that i know ended up having a c section from being induced because it was taking too long & stuff like that
@juliannap well seeing as there is no medical reason, forget his reasoning. It's your call.
@motherhustler_xo, that's exactly what I was thinking. He wants it at his benefit. Mmmm I'm also about an hour away from the hospital so idk if he rather have me
Secure at the hospital instead of me randomly going into labor and being so fat
That no reason to be induced. Your doctor knows the baby is gonna come soon and they are trying to make it be on their terms.
@motherhustler_xo, I was induced with my first and my labor was 36 hours-- but there were medical reasons behind it (IUGR, he was measuring behind) so that's acceptable.. did you end up having c section?
@skylersmommy11916, I thought the same! I was induced with my son but thank God didn't have a c section.. but with my son it was a different reason. I had IUGR and he was measuring behind so they had to take him out. But with this pregnancy she's measuring perfect.. nothings been wrong. I just called and asked why I'm being induced and she said because I'm already 2cm dilated and he was able to touch the babies head.. ok, and?
@juliannap the baby comes on their time. So, instead of being called in, in the middle of the night, they schedule it so it doesn't interfere with them. I know crazy but some do. I was induced with 3 of my 4 kids. 2 of them medical reasons, 1 just because the doctor asked me if I wanted to be at full term, and my last one came on his own. I will say for me, my 3 induced labor's were not different than when I went onto labor naturally.
@motherhustler_xo, makes no sense to me. I just called and asked why I'm being induced and he said because I'm already at 2cm and he was able to touch the babies head.. ok, and?
Actually I'm pretty sure getting induced INCREASES the chance of a csection... Id definitely call and say no to it. I was induced with my son and ended up with a csection and I have read from other moms that being induced increases the chance.
@motherhustler_xo, what do they benefit from that? The office is closed now but I will be calling them tomorrow to find out exactly why he wants me to be induced. I am desperate to go into labor already but I wanna go on my own, when she's ready. I don't want to be induced and have unnecessary medicine when it can be avoided.
Say NO ! You have the right to keep your baby in till he/she is ready. I was 3 cm at 30 weeks but that didn’t mean I wasnt gonna allow them to force my baby out if he wasn’t ready. Wait till your baby is ready and fully cooked to come out the doctors have to accept your decision
