Just Google your local Section 8 office and then visit them. You just gotta fill out there paperwork, which isn't much, then they'll put you on there list and once your approved you can find apartments or houses that are part of it and try to get in there. I've used it before and I got a real nice apartment with there help. Really cheap rent too.

You usually have to go to the housing authority and they usually have waiting lists for like section 8. They would probably be your best bet.
