How can they fire you while out on maternity leave??

Umm they can't do that. Look into your rights. You may be able to go after the company for wrongdoing since you are on maternity leave!

@tiredmama0917, i warmed my boss months prior i can only come back part time and he was fine w it. me and him set up a schedule for me to come back tuesday next week. he tells head of HR. she says no we don’t take part time here. He fought and fought for me. since i can’t go back FT like HR wants....i can’t work there anymore 😭

@tianamarie418, they should have told you this prior to going on leave if unable to accommodate you. Still seems iffy to me what they are doing since it's known knowledge that you were coming back part time

@mommyof2girlz, My boss knew and he shoulda told this to HR. There’s nothing in writing i’m so upset right now we’re in severe debt as is. And now this? I couldn’t be more at a loss right now

@tiredmama0917, sounds like your boss f'd up and that could lead to a legal case because of it. You were under the circumstances of coming back part time. Do you have any conversation in writing or voicemail to cover your basis?

@tianamarie418, yes it is. You were out on a leave of absence due to having a child. You should definitely fight this. Plus if you have those texts as proof that your manager guaranteed you a job on your return that’s even better.
