Are you finding any parts of your job to be challenging xx
Abby Rose⚘·
I'm a carer. On maternity leave now but yeah I found it so hard. Bending down, been on my feet for 12 hours , running round answering the buzzers, walking up the stairs and loads more. Care is a hard job on its own let alone been pregnant. If you are struggling take your time. Half the stuff I would refuse to do like pushing a heavy person or doing personal care on someone who isn't steady on there feet. You've got to put you and baby first xx

I used to tell mine and wene they ignored me i just didnt do the stuff i wasnt comfortable with as i didnt qanna put me or baby at risk. Maybe have aa meeting with management and if nothing improves say you want to take it further as it is putting you and unborn at risk of harm ?x

@kiri.k.t8 then i would 100% take it easy and not do anything you dont feel comfodtable doing that could put you at risk. I didnt di any personal care on my own i always done it in a 2 i also didnt do anyone who was unable to weightbare. Also when i was about 4 to 6 weeks of leaving i just done nites on compyter and sat and done light duties as sone of my residents also complainrd to managemebt that i was doing too much and not resting (even though i reduced alit of what i normally done). I was also not allowed to work on the dementia or nursing floor i onky was allowed to work on ths residential (although some of them was a struggle). I also took my time with everything that i did do and took it easy with regular sit down moments. Management and sone other carers moanrd but i became a bit more confident to speak out when i was pregnant as i knew mine and babys health was way more important than the job x

@sammy240118 just annoying. It is a nursing/dementia hime and hove been told there is no such thing as light work in care. Think i need to juat speak my mind a bit more. Its not all bad as i work nights anyway but apparently that can cause more problems. Might just speak to my midwife at the next appointment to i know where i stand xxx

I heard that to and think i need to develop a back bone hehe xx

I got told off my employers to go on maternity leave at 27 weeks because they couldn't be arsed with the fact I was pregnant and complaining about my work load and having to do single work involving getting people up out of bed and administering personal care plus the constant stresses of the job, never went back to the job x

I’ve worked there for 10 years and was pregnant with my first while working there I worked up to two weeks before my due date. I sometimes find the bending down hard and I have pgp so I find it quite painful. I rest when I need to and let my boss no when I’m feeling saw. But apart from that I’m doing everything else.
