So I have a friend staying with me. She is sleeping on my couch. Now how much should I charge her to stay at my house. She uses my tv, my lights, bathroom, etc. she a friend but, I have 3 kids; you can’t stay for free!

I think it depends on how long she is staying. If it like for the weekend or something, I think the very least she can help out with food.

@young.beautiful3, okay, well then again it depends. I’ve had people stay for like a week and never charged, just asked for help with food and keeping the house tidy. So it really depends on the length of the stay and how much of the utilities she is using.

My BIL lived with us for a while.. we just had him pay the difference in the bills if anything went up and help out with food. He used our car religiously also at one point so he was required to fill it up atleast once a week.

A cheap motel costs 250 a week + so I think that's a reasonable amount to ask her for
