What Can I Do About My 6-Year-Old Pooping in His Pants?
I am at a breaking point.... for almost 2 years now, my now 6 year old has been pooping in his pants. I don’t know what else to do anymore other than buy him diapers because I’m sick of throwing away underwear... there are times he holds his poop so long that when he does go, it’s a foot long and at least 2 inches in diameter.... he says he doesn’t feel the poop come out but yet he’s okay with having a huge load in his pants all day. It’s embarrassing and I’m frustrated. I don’t know what to do.... 😔

Have you tried to just repotty train and just let him go without undies and pants at home? Idk if that would help but I hope it gets better for you!

I’ve been doing some research and he may in fact have Encopresis... I guess the first step is to consult his doctor and then go from there. To me his issues lie because he holds his poop for so long.... it’s very frustrating as a parent.

I would ask your doctor- maybe he really doesn’t “feel” the urge to go - sounds crazy but not entirely impossible I guess. My cousin had to have a c-section because she never had the sensation to push - even when going to the bathroom. She just has to make sure she “goes” every couple hours so to speak. I don’t know if that’s helpful at all I’m sorry 😔♥️
