Stupid question. What did contractions feel like for u?
I also went in wanting to do it natural, then finally asked for the epidural about 7 hours in. I gave birth 5 hours later
For me it just felt like the Braxton Hicks contractions getting stronger and stronger and then eventually the pain gets unbearable. But you bear it anyways
@scardona19, exactly 😂 but once you've pushed him/her out it's really hard to remember exactly what it feels like. Its like you forget that pain. But it is horrible. I went in there wanting to do it naturally and begged them for the epidural.
I didn't even know I was in labor for a good 2 hours. At first I woke up having a tummy aches. I wanted to get up and make tea but I was too tired. I went back to sleep half a hour later woke up to the same shit. Went back to sleep 20 Minutes later same shit. I then realized what was going on and that when this pain shot through my stomach like my whole stomach was compressing. I couldn't walk I couldn't talk It was horrible
@scardona19, I’ve mentioned it to her and she told me that it’s not necessary till I’m 40 weeks. 🙈😅🙃
Like if someone is trying to crush (stomp on) your pelvic bone. Ugh, horrible lol.
@mommy1991, three days here too. My all natural water birth plan was a faaail.
Really bad period cramps to start... then you start to feel like a giant snake is wrapped around you squeezing you as tight as it can and because it hurts ,you start getting supper tense in your shoulders and neck. Breath deep and moan through it, you’ll sound like an African water buffalo but it’s ok 👌🏿 ..and then you realize you’re in pain from neck to your two lowest holes.
Mind you I went natural till I was pretty far dialated.. I was in labor for DAYS😒 my son kept trying to come out FACE first then they kept trying to fix his head. My body went into shock. Finally emergency csection cause his face was too big 😒.
That last part probably won’t happen... but I think I explained the pain part pretty well.
@lex_6 I didn't mean for it to sound like I thought you were judging me either haha I just want any mom to know that at the end of the day it's more than just a yes or no choice. You have to listen to your body and your mind and do what feels right in the moment. And if she doesn't get the epi than good and if she does than good. No one is right or wrong. It's all a personal feeling.
@lex_6 I was in labor for just about 3 days ( I was induced ) when I asked for the epi I was on day 3. I was in pain and had been in pain for a while. I had felt enough. My mom went through post pardum with me. I caused her body so much pain that she didn't even want to hold me at first. I suffer from regular depression and I wanted to want my baby. We all have reasons to do what we do. And I'm happy with the choice I made. I would do it again. I'm sure you're just as happy with your choice. And I'm sure you'd do the same all over again. As well
They feel like period cramps to the maximum potency lol , I had my kids all in natural delivery and the 2nd one was to late for epidural so.. I felt it ALL. Is like the worst things in life ...menstrual cramps and like feeling like going to the washroom all at the same time (for me), maybe everyone is different.
@scardona19, I have a pretty high tolerance for pain too, so I wouldn’t be able to tell what’s considered “real” labor contractions based on pain levels. 😅
@scardona19, I honestly have no idea if I am or not... my midwife doesn’t check to see if I am. 🤷🏻♀️ She’s literally waiting for my baby to decide to come on his own and if he doesn’t make his appearance by 42 weeks then she’s going to have me induced. 😓 I’m really not okay with waiting that long... I’ve heard that babies born post term have more complications. :/
@malainaheka23, r u dialated at all? I like to think I have a pretty high pain tolerance so idk If I’ll feel everything 100%
@scardona19 I mean honestly I understand feeling like that. But doing it made me enjoy feeling her head and when she finally came ojt I was able to sit there and take it in. Take in all the details and all the little things about her. I din't know what it's like to not have it so maybe it's the exact same. I have no idea
@scardona19, it’s so frustrating! 😅😂 I practically live on my birthing ball, but I’m beginning to think this boy isn’t planning on coming anytime soon...🤷🏻♀️😂 I feel like when I do go into labor, or if my water breaks, I’ll be so oblivious and not even realize it till the very last minute. 🙃😂😂😂
But then the epi happened and oh my god..what a beautiful thing. I was talking through all the pushing. I was fine. I felt 0 pain. It was really nice
@scardona19, lol this is my first, so I’m completely clueless to any pains that have come and gone. 🙈😅😂
@malainaheka23, me too. It’s my second but with my first was c section so I have nothing to compare it to lol
Worst back pain in my life and it would get hella intense then chill for a second. I never had them in my tummy
