The godmom is suppose to buy the babies first pair of shoes and cake (that's the tradition I've known) be present at birthdays, graduations, wedding. Takes the baby if something happens to you.
The godmother should attend any events with your child that you can't like maybe a school talent show or something.
I know everyone has different definitions I'd just go over everything you expect once you choose the godmother for your child
