Ladies how do you feel about working a full time position? How long after birth until you go back to…

With my oldest, I worked full time until I went into labor. Helped the time pass quicker. I was honestly ready to go back at 2 weeks, but they made me wait for a doctor release at 6 weeks. I still breastfed when I was home and pumped frequently at work. Never had a problem with bonding.

@worlds.okayest.mom, thank you how long do you have to employed to receive maternity leave I start this week I’m 4 weeks along will I be eligible to take leave by the time baby comes near November?

@mommynmotion depends on your job. For FMLA you have to be there for a year or at least have a minimum amount of hours that you've worked. However FMLA is just job security, not pay. Some jobs give you maternity leave as soon as you join and others you'll have to be there for a year or so. Ask human resources.

And maternity leave may just be leave, doesn't mean it's paid.

If you don't get paid maternity leave, see if you accrue vacation and can use that during your leave. Most jobs have Some rule that vacation needs to be approved ahead of time, so it's not possible, but worth a shot

@mommynmotion I got a job in my 3rd trimester. They welcomed me right back. I also got a job with my daughter in the second trimester. They were totally willing to work with me. As long as you prove yourself during pregnancy, it shouldn't be an issue. Is it a small business or a larger one?

I worked full time until i was 36w and then 37w was a crazy week, I only worked 21 hours and I had my baby at 37w5d!

i went back to work part time at 4w pp. I went full time at 6w pp and I exclusively breast feed! it was hard at first, but it does get easier. make sure to have extras at work! one time I forgot extra bottles so I have Regualr sandwich bags in case 😂 have a reserved, clean space for you to pump, know the laws in your state about breastfeeding and working.

The only "problem" I could foresee is you needing to go out on leave right before the holiday rush. But even that is a stretch. I wouldn't worry too much. It's not like your an essential employee where the place is going to burn down if you're not there. They could hire a temporary seasonal person if it's that bad. I'm sure they do
