So who has been to court for child support ? My daughter has been living with her dad right now and he’s taking me to court to get off of it. I’m just trying to prepare myself for what’s going to happen because I have no idea, and I’m freaking out. So any advice will be appreciated on what to expect !!

I pay almost 500 for my oldest. They garnish my check. You are going to have to work because the same rules apply, if you do not work you will be put in jail.
You will also see how much you have to pay for her insurance.
If he has her you are going to pay, since you do not have a job they will base it by minimum wage depending on your state.
@kclaireeabbey, yeah child support is no joke my husbands ex is getting almost 600. The court didn’t care he had two more kids his rent or bills. So even if you have no job the moment you get income child support is on top of that. They even garnish checks if he fell behind from being in between jobs
@kclaireeabbey, they will say u can work at least minimum wage job working 40hrs. And go by that for your income
If he has her they might switch it around and you pay plus pay from when she started living with him
@kclaireeabbey, if you are getting money from the state from her, you need to report she is not with you. You can get in trouble. 50/50 custody, not sure. You would have to just go to court to see what happens.
