Ugh that makes me sick that you were attacked for your religion. I hope things change soon. It starts with our kids. They are the future. My boys will be raised to respect ALL and have empathy and compassion. Sending you hugs and happy you got such nice things. I LOVE my owlet. I’m using it again with my second son

It's really exhausting. My children will learn to respect everyone no matter religion, race, or sexuality. Plus I didn't understand what the lady was trying to get at because my husband and I both believe in God and VERY STRONGLY. It's whatever though. I don't think she knows better lol. She didn't know that Muslims believe in Jesus and that you have to know the holy books and accept them or your not a practicing muslim. I really try not to preach to people about why i decided to do something. I just wanting to get my baby stuff and go. I'm excited to use it! I basically got this stuff for free!!

@mswedes we're moving to Houston and I believe there are more Muslims there. And there are quite a few here in Austin. But goodness it's not necessary to get defensive

@motherof3nigerianprincesses, a lot of people don’t immediately know I’m Muslim so they’d be sitting in the same room talking about how “we need to get those Muslims out of here!”. It makes me very cautious to tell people because I genuinely fear for my safety.

@mswedes I understand that and I was a little like that only because I didn't want to offend anyone. But I realized that I'm starting not to care what people think. I want my daughters to see me as a role model. As soon as I stop working this month I decided to start covering myself. I really believe Allah won't put me in something I can't handle. Plus me watching my husband makes me want to be more involved in Islam! I've only been Muslim for like a year and a half and I've had more people come after me than any point in my life 😐

@motherof3nigerianprincesses, I’m not worried about offending people. I was born and raised Muslim and have never done anything to ever discredit anyone else’s faith so I find it concerning when people come after me. Plus I hear a lot of how Muslims should be exterminated and such. It’s scary. Especially now, as a mother. Every single member of my immediate family has been verbally and sometimes physically attacked for being Muslim and it was entirely unprovoked. You just get tired of people expecting you to defend yourself when you haven’t done anything wrong to need to defend yourself.

@mswedes omg that's horrible 😥. That would have me fearing for my life too. I completely understand like why do I need to defend myself and my religion. I don't go around asking others about their lives. And I'm not going to say that I understood Islam when I first meet my husband I was just as igront about the religion as everyone else. But I was willing to learn which made me fall in love with it. The first time I watched my husband pray it was like love at first sight and my heart was filled like it was never before. He never pushed Islam on me and still doesn't.
