The pediatrics referring my son to see a neurologist for his foreskin covering his boy part. I asked her what to do about it, she telling me what they tell me at EVERY appointment since he was 6 months old "After a bath pull down on it 2 or 3 times while it's still wet from the water to see if it detaches" I'm like I been doing that since yall told me about it the first time. So I got her to look at it and see if she could pull it down and she tried but couldn't and didn't wanna cause him any pain so she just referring him to see what a neurologist could do about it next week. I told her that the doctor who performed his circumsizion when he was a baby(and I usually see him for his pediactric appointments) but I told her he even asked me if he was circumsized when he was about 6 months. I'm like yeah he was and he was the one who done the circumsizion smh. I should of recorded him then and sued his ass a long time ago.... She said they have creams that help detach skin for girls but for boys it causes side effects so she just thinks he should be seen. I just don't want my boy to be in any pain from the skin grown on his penis like that. He doesn't never act like it hurts or anything but I'm thinking about later in life for him ugh 😥

So he is circumcised they just left extra skin?

@amouryaya09 He got circumsized when he was a baby.. But some skin has grown around the head of his penis and it doesn't suppose to be. It looks like he wasn't circumsized at all. Which the nurse said babies have a fat pad right there it tends to push the fat around it but no matter how long I soak him in the bath I can never get the skin to detach

Why a neurologist? Neurologists take care of brains and heads... What would they be able to do for that?

I understand your frustration with the fact he was circumcised and it didn't work, and your pediatricians lack of knowledge of your son. Especially since he was the one who performed the surgery. I say you still see the urologist. But my question is, if your son has no issues or pain, then why does it bother you? What will you do if the doctor says not to do anything about it? After 6 months of "not being circumcised" which I realize isn't the case, they will have to put your son under anesthesia to do the procedure. My son is not circumcised and his dad is still set on how our son WILL be circumcised. Unless there is a serious issue, which there isn't, I will not be putting my son under.

@babymay2016 Idk why it bothers me. I guess when I look at it it makes me think he's hurting or something idk. Then I've read blogs on Google about men who got circumsized and never got the foreskin detached and hurts when they get erections and they're embarrassed about it. I don't want my son to grow up and be like mom why didn't you get me fixed cause it hurts me or it's unattractive or why did you get me circumsized at all. Idk but ima see the urologist whenever they schedule it but if they say they gonna put him to sleep I'm not letting that happen.

@eryka616 I don't think he's in any pain. He's never grabbed himself or acted in any pain from it. And he pees alot. My sis said my nephew was the same when he was a baby and had to go 2 times to get them to pull the skin back. I just don't want my baby to hurt if he's hurting

@lovemyson215 After a baby is six months old then they have to put him to sleep. I have went over all the options in my head and tried to side with my sons dad about it, but your son can always make the change himself when he is older. The only way I'm going to do anything like that is if there is a problem that requires him to do it. If he wants to get circumcised when he is older, then we will do that. Yeah the pain is really bad but I don't agree is worse the older you are. After 6 months old the pain is so great they require them to be under anesthesia. I just can't bring myself to do it. People are so judgemental of me not having him circumcised, but unless there is a physical issue. I see no problem. He can make the decision when he is older. Even if he has problems like that they will not come for a long time and idk maybe I'm wrong about it all. But it's too scary for me to put my son under and I figure I will let him make decisions about his own penis. If he wants to be mad at me then that is fine.

@lovemyson215, well if he’s not in pain and it just seems like he’s not circumcised then I’d just leave it. Pulling the skin back hurts them.

@eryka616 He's circumsized, it's just a thin layer of skin that is wrapped around the rim of head of his penis.. Like the left side wants to kinda pull down but the right side won't at all. And I been doing what the doctors say about every bath pull it down a little but nothing helps. Hopefully the urologist can just give an ointment to soften the skin so it can detach cause I will never get my baby put to sleep over anything. Too risky.

So basically he has adhesions around the head of his weewee because of the fat pad pushing back. They still should’ve did the steroid cream. I guarantee you the urologist will suggest that you use the steroid cream for 6weeks and then schedule a follow up visit. If it’s not better by then they’ll perform what’s called a lysis of adhesion where there would numb the area and gentle pull the skin away using gauze.

Oh and btw the steroid cream is called betamethasone. It’s only harmful if used in large quantities and used longer than it’s intended use which in his case would be anything after 6weeks

@jmw24815 Thank you!! That's better to hear than hearing him having to be put to sleep. The lady told me the cream causes bad side effects for males cause it's estrogen ointment meant for girls. Idk but my sis said when my nephew had to have his pulled down he bled and had to have it done twice. Ugh just the thought makes me cringe. Even today when she tried to pull it down even though she didn't do it hard or force it it still make me feel like it hurt him

@lovemyson215, you have to do what’s in the bed interest for your child. If you think he really needs it done then go for it. If not it can always be corrected later down the like. Depending on the child and their genes it can take a child about 4-5 years to thin out and lose a bit of weight and it goes away on its own.
