Is anybody else out there freaking out about the flu in that norovirus that's going around? I live in Springfield Massachusetts and there's been a lot of freaking sick people that are going to Baystate hospital and my baby has his one month check-up and I've been putting it off I cancelled it twice because I'm too scared to bring them in there I'm petrified because I talked to the nurse I had the nurse call me and she was supposed to try to make me feel better about it but she actually made me even worse she was telling me she tells people that they should wear a mask if they have the flu but she can't make them wear a mask so there's asshole people out there that have the flu that refused to put a mask on and infect everybody else so I don't care they're probably going to call DCF on me honestly I'd rather than my 4 week old catching the flu from the doctors and on the news it says don't go to the doctors unless you're freaking dying so for them to just want to see him and weigh him and measure how much he grew see isn't something important enough to expose my son to the the flu for.. I know some people are going to criticize me for that but honestly he is very healthy happy everything is going perfectly and for just a simple routine check-up like that I'm sorry but I don't want to be in there with a thousand people with the flu what I'm going to do is I'm going to try to find a pediatrician around here that's just a pediatrician the place he goes is for adults and kids so if I take him to a pediatrician that is just kids it'll lower the chances of him getting sick.

@babymay2016 yep that's what I'm planning cuz his doctors is Pediatrics and adults so I need to find a pediatrician for him that just has pediatric that way it'll lower the population in amount of sick people there the only be sick kids they're not a bunch of sick people too so I'm not bringing them I don't care not worth it and it's not like he's due for any shots yet he's just too damn young to be exposed to that like I said healthy fit middle-aged people are dropping Dead all over the place so you really think 5 week old baby would be able to handle that I got into an argument with the nurse on the phone she kept on telling me that I have to keep my hands washed and don't go to the mall and don't go to other public places and it's very important that he comes in for his check-ups and she kept on saying how much of an emergency he had to have that check up and I told her I'm like really you guys are going to weigh and measure how long is and say "okay see you next month" she made me look like a psychopath for thinking this way. So she's telling me to avoid all public places but it's okay for me to go into a doctor's office that is infested with people with the flu I would consider that a public place and the biggest danger you could bring your kid to so she contradicted herself.

@aprilshowers.bring.mayflowers OMG I'd be FREAKING OUT! My son is only 5 week's old! I mean normal healthy young men and women are dying from this! He has an appointment today at 2:40 and I don't care I'm not subjecting him to that over such a simple check-up if there was something wrong with him or something like that obviously I'd take him, but I mean I am not going to go in there and expose him to that just for a weight and height check. They can call DCF all they want I have nothing to hide and DCF freaking to classify it as neglect, at the same time I think it's neglectful if you bring your child in somewhere that you know a bunch of sick people are. You would think that would make me look like in overcautious in over paranoid parent that's terrified for their child to get sick not that I'm neglecting him!

At his pediatrician they do have a sick side and a well side but I feel like nobody pays attention to it. Ugh

I think you're totally right and I wouldn't take a baby there either, not right now. I 100% agree with you. My son just got over flu/strep/double ear infections. He is a lot bigger and still it was very scary. I say find another doctor too and don't take him to the hospital where there are so many sick people. Honestly my sons pediatrician too there was/is a lot of children with the flu there and everybody is getting it. Find a new doctor and schedule in a month or so... if you think your baby is doing well then it's not going to hurt to keep that baby away from all the sickness!
