So my first month pp I really struggled with feeling alone and isolated even with my husband there. After we got into a routine (and the baby on a schedule) plus I stopped breastfeeding, I finally felt like me again. Then a few weeks later (a week ago) my husband deployed and it’s like all those horrible feelings of isolation came flooding back. In the beginning I thought I might have ppd but after it had stopped I just assumed it was baby blues that lasted a while longer than normal. But now I’m literally having anxiety attacks just from going out to a restaurant with my mother and grandmother. I’ve never ever had an anxiety attack before but I feel like I’m constantly on the verge of one. I’ve only actually had 2 recently, most of the time I just feel my heart race and my chest feels weird all while I feel like I’m about to burst out crying and the only thing on my mind is “I need to go home.” Do you think this is ppd or just anxiety problems?

I'm pretty sure anxiety is associated with ppd. I had it really bad. I had anxiety attacks before I got pregnant but after my baby was born it got worse. Plus my husband was in boot camp and AIT the whole time so that def made it worse

@mrshodges, we were stationed at different basis during the first 6 months of my pregnancy and then when I finally did get to his base, he deployed. So I didn’t get to see him until I was 8 months pregnant. I cried all the time. That’s what it feels like now except I feel like I’m in a bubble or something. Idk.

PPA is a thing. It's even less talked about than PPD but it is a thing. If you haven't struggled with anxiety before it's a real possibilty that's what it is.

@kat3007, Wow I’ve never even heard of it, but yeah I’ve never had anxiety problems until now.
