@ariachannell, yes I know people did it for years my grandma being one and people still do it now but there is a little risk doing so

I've tried putting it in the bottle and feeding my son like that. As long as you're actually feeding him and not having him propped up and leaving him unattended with the bottle then it's fine. But you can feed cereal anyway. My son use to like me mixing a little baby food with his cereal in a bowl. And that way I knew he got in his vegetables and fruits too.
