You should really try the little hippo baby toy light projecter and sound machine thing though. Idk why my son never liked any other ones but he loved that. Wouldn't sleep without it. It was like $15 or less at Wal-Mart. It has multiple settings but he only liked two of them with music and nature sounds. And the lights change. I'm sure there are better ones but that's the cheapest one 😂 and the only one my son liked so it works

My son slept in his crib next to my bed. We took the side rail off so it could lay flush with our mattress and pushed it up against the wall so it wouldn’t move. He slept like that with me until he was almost one then we moved him to his own room

The only thing you can do is start off by trying to lay him in his own bed in his own room and see how he does on his own. Try a white noise machine or music or a nightlight that projects lights.
