I wouldn't apply for any credit while on mat leave.

If you are going to get a credit card just to build credit, dont spend money that you dont have.

@segreto46, I have money, I am also setting up a savings account for Jackelyn when she turns 18 she will be able to get it but I have had Gerber tell me they would add 40 cents to each dollar I save for her, and I have had sun life offer to match every dollar, I am mostly just trying to build up credit

so I will have a better chance of moving. It would open so many doors for me

@mommaxbearx, get a capital 1 credit card ., I’m in the same situation as you as I would like to gain credit and my sister told me that the best way for me to do that seeing as I don’t want a regular credit card from my bank I’ll go with a prepaid credit card this way you put the max amount let’s say 500$ for the month and use that . You’ll never go over your limit and what ever you use you make your payment back and it won’t charge you as much interest as one from a bank
