Anyone else get turned away for prenatal care by an OB at 36 weeks just because your midwife was still on vacation?
My midwife told us weeks ago that we would be seeing a different doctor for yesterday’s appointment because she would be out of town that day... We arrived at the office and the front desk lady who scheduled out all my appointments ahead of time had the nerve to tell me that I didn’t have an appointment. 🙄 I handed her my appointment card with all my appointments on it and told her that she was the one who filled it out and did everything and that my midwife also told us that we were going to be seen by someone else that day, so then she told me to have a seat. Why did this wench make me wait 2 hours just to tell me that the OB that was working won’t see me because her dumb self tried to cover her ass telling him I was a “walk in” and because I didn’t have an appointment he wouldn’t see me. I’m 36 freakin’ weeks pregnant! WHY THE HELL WOULD I BE A “WALK IN?!” THESE PEOPLE KNOW ME!! They’ve seen me come in and out every 2 weeks!! My SO was so pissed because I was supposed to be tested for Group B strep and have more blood work done, but I don’t like confrontation so I did my best to keep him from chewing her out because I’d rather not have to find another office to go to so late in my pregnancy. 🤦🏻♀️

Just make sure when you see your midwife next you tell her what happened. That’s bullshit my drs office has two midwifes and a Dr and I see all three. Doesn’t matter appointment or not.

@raquely, I have a specific midwife, but when she’s out I usually see another person... this time the actual OB refused to see me knowing exactly who I was because I had to see him when I was 24 weeks when my midwife was out again. It just made no sense to me, and if I wasn’t so far long already I would’ve switched offices. 🤦🏻♀️😓

@boymomx3, it’s not like he had a long list of people to see either! There were only 4 other pregnant girls who were barely even pregnant compared to me. 🤦🏻♀️ I wouldn’t have minded waiting either, but nope let’s turn away the only pregnant girl in here who’s literally about to give birth...🙄 I’m definitely going to tell her when she gets back, but I doubt she’d do anything about it. She’s very Zen. lol it just irks me because I’ve been going there since 7 weeks pregnant and they all know me, so why would you act like I’m just some random walk in pregnant girl?! 😠

@raquely, The lady who scheduled me out for the rest of my appointments was the one who told me I didn’t have one... She literally tried covering her own ass because she knew that she screwed up, and this wasn’t the first time she did it. 🤦🏻♀️ I’m definitely going to tell my midwife, but I doubt she’d do anything. 🤷🏻♀️

@momma_dee, definitely going to tell my midwife when she gets back, but I doubt she’ll really do anything. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m supposed to be tested for GBS so they know ahead of time whether or not to give me antibiotics or not whenever my baby decides to come... I just hope I don’t have it. 🤦🏻♀️
