@kayteamay, you know when you defrost them, I’ve read you can do this in a saucepan and then let it cool before giving it to baby. How about if you let it defrost in the fridge, do you then have to heat it up until hot and let cool, or just warm up enough to give to baby? I’m confused! X

@winterbaby95, do you heat it up until it is piping hot though? Or just warm enough to eat straight away? X

@winterbaby95, layla really likes carrot purée I made, so wanted to make some simple ones to start with just to get her used to different tastes, then I’d like to do some BLW at 6 months. I’ve read things about the microwave that you have to be careful...it’s so confusing. Will probably do in the saucepan most the time and let it cool, but I was just confused about defrosting in the fridge, whether it needed to be reheated thoroughly or just warmed through after it had defrosted?x

I used to take them out of the freezer and put the containers into a bowl of boiling water. It would defrost and heat up

@kayteamay, thank you, and then just let it cool to the right temperature to feed baby?x

@hayleyf Yeah, you have to be careful with the microwave..they say not to do it in the mircowave. But id do it on low temp and not for long..like every 5-10 secs id put it on for :) But yeah...as i said in my other comment..better to heat in hot water or in a.small pan and yes you leave it to cool to the right temp for bubba xx

@winterbaby95, thank you, just wasn’t sure whether I was heating and cooling or just warming it through. Thank you! X

I think you are supposed to make it piping hot and then cool it down. I just defrost and heat up mine in the microwave until desired temperature though...
hayley fletcher·
@kate_smith, defrost and then heat up to the temperature you want to give it to baby at?x

@hayleyf no, I take as many icecubes of food out of the fridge as I think she will eat, stick them in the microwave for 1min 10sec, mix and feed immediately. I think it must get piping hot if it was out of the freezer for a while, because in the freezer at -18 or lower all bacteria should die anyway.
