I've been reflecting quite a bit lately about giving birth. I feel a variety of emotions: joy, satisfaction, happiness, completeness, excitement, anxiety
I have done a lot of research with the help of my two Registered Midwives about this route for child birth. I have been questioned about my choice by several family members, co-workers and friends. Some questions are sprouted from curiosity, others are often rude. I am not usually asked about the safety or the success rate..no...it's usually about my lack of knowledge. I've had someone say to me, "Are you scared of a hospital birth?" My response was simple, "No, I just want a natural and wholesome experience for myself and my baby." To which they replied, "You've clearly never given birth before." I was hurt, this wasn't the first time I've been ridiculed for my birth plan. I don't get a lot of support in this regard, however, I will say that I have received support from a few people. Most people call me crazy, stupid or just plain inexperienced. Has anyone else experienced this? Sometimes it is difficult to put the opinions of others aside, I'm influenced heavily by how others view me, I've always been that way. I will not change my plan to suit anyone else, but I can't help but feel that others aren't excited for me because they can't relate to my holistic philosophy. #waterbirth #midwifery #holistichealth #naturalbirth #homedelivery #momlife #nodrugs #doterra #essentialoils

Good for you! No one should ever tell you what's right or wrong or how to considering each woman's body is different. I feel if you have a back up plan, for example I wanted a natural birth and ended up getting a c section due to no dilation then I say you are the momma and go for it!
Birth is personal. Not everyone will understand how we choose to welcome our children into the world. Don't feel hurt, you're doing what comes natural 🙌 people seem to ignore that women were giving birth at home long before medicine became advanced. Have a beautiful home birth 👶
