My daughter has been sneezing and got a runny nose. No fever no cough. Is it considered a cold?

My daughter is currently going through the same thing. My two older kids were exposed to the flu and within 2 days my son had chills, body aches and cough but no fever. My baby has a clear runny nose and an occasional cough but no fever. I called my dr and they told me fever is a sure sign of flu. Said I should just treat my kids at home unless they get a high fever. I personally didn't want to risk going to the ER or dr where many flu patients would be and risk my children getting it in case they only had a cold. Plus my baby acted normal, still eating, drinking and playing. If your child gets fever, sleeps all day and doesn't have an appetite I'd take her in. If you want peace of mind or even feel something is off take her in. Go with your instincts. That's what I do when I'm unsure. 😊

Is runny nose clear? When my son had those symptoms it was allergies and his Dr prescribed him some cough syrup with the same ingredients as zyrtec. So I'd call the Dr cause it could b anything especially with so much goin around. Hope he feels better-glad he dnt have a fever.

I would say yes. My 17 month old had the same thing. He now has a cough, but I took him to urgent care and he just has a cold. Without a fever I wouldn't be too worried.
