It’s usually $1,000 per kid I believe.

Next year I’m pretty sure it’s gonna he raised to $2,000 per kid.

I got way more than that for both kids. Even when I only had one it was more than that. I'm pretty sure it's based on how much you made that year. I live in PA.

@lizyetter_1991 I'm not 100% sure the exact way it works, but I think so. It also depends on how you fill out your w4 in the beginning of the year.

@lizyetter_1991 I guess the logic is, since you're doing okay financially throughout the year you won't need as much back during tax time. For example, in 2016 I only made like $7000 for the entire year since I didn't work that much and for both kids combined I got close to $4000. The percentage of my income that I got back that year was greater than 50% which I thought was insane. In 2017 I made significantly more money and my refund this time is more than last year, but definitely less than 50% of my income. It's weird how they do it. I'll never fully understand lol.

@nomli, could be because of how much you made. Years ago when I filed I only got 50$ for each of my sons because I didn't make much. The most you can get is up to $1000 per child
