I am worried as I found out Leah has duanes syndrome where one of her eyes can not move left or…

I hope so but they said there was not anything they could do as its down to wrong wiring in her eye. She cant move it left or right. XX

@carrie.anne19845 Charlie has Marcus Gunn wink where the mouth and eye nerve is connected so he winks every time his eating also one eye is droopy. I'm awaiting another appointment to discuss options surgery will be the only way to correct this. I'm scared and worried aswell xx

Like to add he may need an eye patch and glasses. They usually operate when a bit older unless it effects babies vision which it does as he has to tip his head back to see as the eyelid covers the white part and sometimes his pupil when tired xx

Hello! 👋 My sister has Duane syndrome she just turned 20 so know a fair bit about this.

We chose not to have the operation as I had a friend at school who also had Duane's, but he had the operation and it made no difference. She just did strengthening exercises and when they got to school she was always seated in the class so her eyesight was effected.

@beffgoude yes they did say that operation may not work and I dont want to put her through that X just worries me and hope ot does not effect her too much Xx

@carrie.anne19845 I mean i know every kids different but my sister is now at uni studying criminology and physiology and get top grades in her class. Her eye has never held her back!
