You should probably ask his doctor before you switch and see what his doctor recommends🙂

@kcamps, but he’s in pain and his regular doctor can’t see him till tomorrow
Eryka·
@mommydelacruz, since your appointment is tomorrow I would wait

You can switch him if that’s what you want. I switched my son to soy and he took to it very well. The only thing with switching is that you won’t know how he will take to it for sure so if you’re okay with spending the money I would try.

@mommydelacruz, even if you switch him tonight it takes a couple days to a week for their bellies to adjust to the new formula anyway which can also cause problems. I would wait since he sees the dr tomorrow. My son had colic and he was on enfamil gentlease, gas drops and gripe water and used the dr browns bottles. Colic decreased then went away and never came back

Try diff bottle as well
Allie·
@noahs.mommy, I used doctor brown bottles now well have been. But I switched off. And he uses the playtex vent aire one.

My son was colicky for a little over 4 months. If you think it’s gas, try gas drops or bicycle motions with his legs or the windi (lifesaver for us). As said before, switching to soy will take a while to see the benefits if there are any. An allergy to milk should show either in a rash or with blood in his stool.
Allie·
@dbarton041, is that even good for them to be like that ?

My son’s pediatrician switched him to soy and it was awful. He stayed constipated and when he started having blood in the little poop balls he was passing I had had enough. I switched him to Earth’s Best which is an organic, non GMO based formula and it’s done wonders for my son. We struggled with stomach issues for a while before that and I know every baby is different but please do some research on soy and it’s dangers on babies, especially boys and reconsider giving it to you baby. I didn’t know how terrible it was for them until I tried it myself and it not only constipates them but is full of phytoestrogens.

@mommydelacruz, I don’t think that anyone really knows what causes colic but people think it might be gas so I don’t think it’s bad. They are just uncomfortable because their GI tracts are still developing.
