My ex has made a public announcement sayings going to take legal action for my daughter. So, the man has not attempted to contact me in a polite manner. The last time I saw anything from him he was calling me pathetic. This man abandoned me with $40,000 worth of debt, 25,000 of which actually has his name on it as well. The only offer of help I have received has been his sister asking about diaper and clothing sizing which i said no to because I was not only not ready to converse with him, but I also felt if he's going to help out he should help pay off the debts that he helped accumulate and that are currently having am effect on what I am able to provide for my children...am I right to be pissed here?

So right to be angry! Who does he think he is? That pisses me off just reading about it. Its like if my ex did the same thing and he has completely abandoned me during the pregnancy. You can win it! Men are stupid and selfish in my experience, or maybe I just haven't found the right one, in any case, this one sounds very selfish

@neko86 I am in therapy partly because of what he put me through mentally and emotionally. I litterally wanted time to deal before we started talking about him seeing her. He had 6 months of full access which he didn't take advantage of, and in the last 3 months of not having him around my kids sleep schedules have improved like crazy.(went from fighting sleep till 3 or 4am to going to bed no problem between. 8pm or 9p.)

@ashiducharme your kids can sense the tension that much when he is around, eh? I am rooting for you, our kids deserve to grow up learning and thinking without the added stress of negative parents. I am trying to Decide if one day I should go after child/spousal support one day. Don't know if it would be worth all the trouble, but I've been advised to wait a year or 2 before I do, just to prove beforehand that I am a good mother.

I’d take him to court ASAP before he takes you, it will look better on you. Also keep everything that he says to you. You have every right to be upset, not much of a man to leave you like that with all that debt. There must be some way to force him to take responsibility for his half of the debt

@alecandfrankiesmum I blocked him. His "offering" to help was his sister asking. I only found out about him wanting to take me to court because I still check his online gaming account

@ashiducharme, you should definitely file first. It’s the person who shoots first, and knows the symptom better that wins. Sucks you have to deal with all that.
