I'm not having much luck potty training my almost 3 year old. He's very resistant and stubborn. This morning he had a dry pull up so I brought him to the potty. He started going but some of the pee went onto the floor so he stopped. Then he ran to his bedroom and finished peeing on the floor. 🤦♀️

@brit.thoms3 I tried candy, but then he would sit down for 2 seconds then stand up and ask for candy

@mwhiteoak21 but you don't give him candy right? Maybe put a kitchen timer or even just a phone alarm. Then he knows when he can get up. Wait for the alarm to go off.
Do you discipline him when he goes on the floor?

@brit.thoms3 I would only give him candy if he pees in the potty. When he pees on the floor I just tell him it's naughty, that we don't go on the floor, pee goes in the potty.

@mwhiteoak21 My kids always responded well to like being crazy excited. Like I went nuts when she went in the potty. Made a fool of myself haha. Does he ever hang out with other kids that are potty trained?

@brit.thoms3 on the special occasion where he does go in the potty I'm just like "yay! You did it! High five 🖐" lol the only other kid he's ever around is his cousin who is 9 weeks younger and also isn't potty trained :/

@mwhiteoak21 Ok this maybe completely crazy but I am actually from Big Lake. We could have a play date. My daughter just turned 3 and is potty trained.
