I learned in child development class that as soon as the baby can sit so they can get the hang of it but if you want to wait then till they’re 2-3 years old
Depends on your baby boys generally are harder but at 18mo on average they have the physical control of their bowels and bladder not to say it won't take a few months but its a good time to just start introducing it You want them to have potty training down by age 3
