I do time outs. He learns when it’s not acceptable, I usually let him chill until he’s calmed down. Five minutes tops.

@littleonemorning, how do you do time outs? My son won’t sit still.

@starienite, honestly, I put him in his play pen and take out his toys, maybe leave a stuffed animal for comfort if I think it’s needed. Let him have his fit and just go about my business. When he’s calmed down, I just tell him why it wasn’t okay to throw a fit and let him out. And just repeat as needed.

My mil said the same thing to me but I can’t figure what to to. My son has a problem of climbing on everything and I can’t get him to stop.

My daughter this started doing this recently. When I tell her no, she starts arguing with me.

@starienite, I do timeouts, too. Usually not more than 30 - 60 seconds since he's little, but I'll pick him up and stand him against a wall or a corner and stand behind him, and every time he tries to wiggle away I'll reposition him. It seems to work some. At this age it's hard because they don't understand, but taking him away from whatever caused the tantrum and letting him cool for a bit helps. I don't use his crib or playpen because I don't want him to develop a bad association with those and then fight nap or bed.
