You are an amazing mother. I am also a stay at home mother and have noticed that my kids behave better for other people. I think they might think they can get away with more when with us.

Kids at this age aren't always the best sharers, anyway. They're just starting to figure out the whole 'mine' concept. My son went through a very "here ya go, I share" phase around 13/14 months, but now it's all "mine".

I'm a SAHM mom, also, and we just enrolled him in preschool for the fall, to help teach him how to act around other kids while away from us. He's started his attachment phase, too 😖

Some kids are just more easygoing than others, and some will be super easygoing at first (my son) and then turn into a handful once they near 1.5.

@buffyneal22, thank you! And that is so true! Behaves great for his grandma and for me and his dad he gets crabby and thinks he can get away with anything! The little boy I am watching though is extremely well behaved! Lol but like I said he usually goes to day care so he is use to other kids I’m guessing

@nomli, is there a preschool around you that takes them without being potty trained? I wish there was where we are so he could get more interaction with kids his age

@paigerue2013, yes there is. Until they're 3/4 they don't have to be potty trained at this particular school. The ones I mainly looked at start taking kids at 18m, and most kids are still in diapers at that age. It's not quite as structured or educational as it will be once he's older, though it's not quite regular daycare either.

@nomli, I might have to look into that for something around me just for a day or two a week! Something for interaction and structure possibly getting ready for preschool lol

@paigerue2013, that'd what he needs! It'll only be two half days a week, but for a kid who has never really been anywhere without me or his dad, it's a good start. And it's way less expensive than daycare would be for the same amount of time. He goes to The Little Gym once a week, but it's only for 45 minutes and I'm there the whole time. We just moved, too, so I plan to explore the area for any free classes or events at the library or parks.

@nomli, we plan on moving in the next month or two with active duty...so something I def want to look into
