Ladies I need your opinion on circumcision...my mom is adamantly against it and has been lecturing…

@melody_momof5 it's just my belief that it needs to be done. I've done the research and Ik it hurts the baby...i could hear that in his screams...thats why I'm reaching out bc I need it to be done but it broke my heart...

I think it's better for it to be done. Unfortunately my son's got a little infected a fee days after but that's rare

@melody_momof5 I think he can be...if the baby is early there's a possibility he will still be out of town...if that happens my sister will be with me but she won't be in the room with him...

We got our son done before we even left the hospital. He didn’t get put to sleep but we was given something that made him calm and kinda sleepy. I didn’t go with. I just sent him with the dr while I stayed in my room and got ready to leave. They give you tubes of Vaseline to put on it with every diaper change so it doesn’t get stuck to the diaper while it’s healing.

@db413 I really wish I didn't watch that video of how they do it...if my boyfriend is there and goes with the baby I think I might be able to do it...but I wouldn't be able to let him go alone if my boyfriend's not there...

@babymomma2018, I didnt do it I push the skin back it took about 2 weeks I put Vaseline on every time now everytime I change his diaper just put it back I have heard of the skin growing close so my reason of doing it didnt circumcise because I didn't want to see my baby in pain

Do what you feel is best, not what your mom feels is best. My mom demanded I get my son circumcised but that was the plan anyway. This time around I told my husband it was up to him and were not. At the end of the day, all that matters is we have 2 healthy boys.

Nope neither of us. They wheeled him out and wheeled him back still sleeping

I wasnt in the room when my little man got circumcised. They wheeled him to a different place and brought him back when he was done. Yes it does hurt them but they're so little I believe they don't remember the pain. He didn't act any different when he got it done he just wanted mama for a while a good hour an no one else. They did it at the hospital the day after he was born they showed us how to take care of it and clean it. You only have to do Vaseline for 1-2 weeks depending on the healing. Most of the time when the umbilical stump falls off the cirmumcision is healed as well

One of the many reasons i decided to leave both my sons intact was beacuse of how they do it. I cant imagine putting my newborn baby through all that unnecessary pain. When they are older they can make that choice. I feel like this is a decision for them to make about their own bodies.

@babymomma2018, like others have said. By the time they get older they don’t remember the pain. Once kids hit a certain age their brains basically reset their memories. It is completely up to you. The dr came in and took him and he was back in 15 mins.

There are studies out there about how the extreme pain and trauma from circumcision changes the way the boy’s brain works forever. Brains don’t reset. That’s false. Do some more research. The rates of infection are literally almost identical. An intact penis looks just like a circumcised one when erect. And you don’t have to put your baby through traumatizing pain for nothing. Leaving my son intact was the best decision I ever made.

@momtothe3rdpower I know it does hurt them but I have done extensive research on it in just the past 4 days and I'm still doing so. There aren't any studies that prove the trauma effects them at all. Also the infection rates are very slim...as are the infection and diseases that could happen if left uncircumcised, but the possibility for both are definitely there. And uncircumcised does not look the same as circumcised...to risk sounding like a slut, ive seen a few in my time and I personally, was scared by it. They were one night stands and I just had this overwhelming feeling of stress bc I was worried that he would give me an infection bc I didn't know if he knew how to clean it. Obviously that is not my thought process when it comes to my son, I'm just stating that there is a big difference and I personally like the peace of mind circumcision brings for the POSSIBILITY of the issues that could arise if left in tact. That only thing I don't want is to hurt my baby, I won't even let them stick needles in my baby when he's born bc I don't want to hurt him. So my only option now is to request that he be put to sleep, which they can do and no scientific evidence says that sedating him will hurt him.

An adult uncircumcised ERECT penis looks no different than a circumcised one (except a circumcised one has a scar).

Literally the first two things that pop up in google for the brain changing due to pain. Seriously, I planned on circumcision for my son because my whole family is and his dad is. I did so much research I have research coming outta my nose. My son is the only male in my family to not have any penis issues. And he’s the only intact one. My SO lost 80% of the sensation in his penis due to circumcision so even when things go “well” there’s a chance they won’t.

@momtothe3rdpower I see no scar on my boyfriend....or any other guy I've seen...and the only time an uncircumcised penis looks the same is when it is ejaculating, the foreskin pulls back. I have had several mothers, including my own (who is against circumcision after she did research after her first baby was circumcised) have told me their behaviors and mood does not change. And there is a point where brains can not retain a portion of their past, they don't remember it as a baby just like they don't remember sucking on their moms boob.

I do have a question tho....assuming your SO got circumcised as an infant and not an adult, how do you know that he lost 80% of sensation?

I assume just as any other body part a man can normally feel someone touching their penis. He only can feel his penis being touched on 20% of it. The rest is completely numb. His first son from a previous relationship has a buried penis from his circ and will likely never be able to penetrate. I just want you to have all facts moving forward, most myths about circumcision have been debunked. Also, babies die from the procedure. That’s a risk I wasn’t willing to take with my son.

@momtothe3rdpower I do very much appreciate you sharing all your findings. I am no where near done with my research or able to come to a conclusion yet. I believe in one thing and I don't know that that'll change but need to explore the options of how to get to that point
