@ladislava1, yes! It does help. I've breastfed her twice today then supplemented with 1 once formula. We had a rough night last night. Hoping tonight will be better. Our oldest didn't get a nap in with visitors but she's in bed now for the night. The baby is sleeping in the bassinet with us in the living room. Hoping for a quiet evening
A pacifier is fine. Like mentioned above it does help prevent SIDS. My daughter won't take one but she pacifies on me through the night (I breastfeed) so it's normal for them to wake up off and on wanting to eat or pacify congratulations! 😊
@ladislava1, yes, give it back if he cries. Fussing if minimal, I let go. Every 2-3 hours is normal right now.
She's been up every 2 hours tonight. Where we decided formula, my husband stayed with her the first half of the night in the living room and I slept. After our oldest woke up, he got her down cause I can't lift her since I had a cesarean. And I took over the lil one. I think I slept 3 hours which was the time I had before this 😂
@ladislava1, baby is cluster feeding at 3 days. So it's like "on demand".
My milk hasn't come in. I started formula. If I didn't have two little ones; I'd probably supplement with formula and try breastfeeding first before giving the bottle. But that's not going to be possible.
I've been through pumping with my first while in the NICU and supplementing. That was a handful and she ended up on special formula to gain weight.
Both my girls are small weight wise. So where my daughter lost 9% of weight and is down to 5lbs we had to make a decision as well.
Milk supply should come in by day 5 if it is.
@mommyof2girlz, omg congratulations to you as well . This is my first one so I’m so confused ...he crying every time when he drops it too so what do you do just put it back ? I also still wake him up every 2 hours to eat , I don’t have milk hope it’ll come soon n will help at least with feeding. How’s yours eating and sleeping during the night?
Pacifier is okay at night. It actually helps prevent sids. My first never cared for it. My daughter is also 3 days old (congratulations)! And she likes the pacifier and wakes up when it drops. Tonight is our first night home. How is it going for you?
A little chaotic here... we have a 14 month old as well. But once we get settled; it'll get better!
