@chadandtanya14 oh wow. See they didn't stop the epi drip for me. The last time my Dr came in to check me I had just pushed my little button they gave me. I had just got a fresh dose. I felt nothing of her coming out. The nurse told me when to push. I pushed for about 45 minutes and the whole time I was joking with the nurse. Having that epidural really helped me a lot. I have no idea how you even went through what you went through. Ouchieee. How big was your little one?
@mommy1991 oh wow. Yea I had a nurse like that as well. They let me finish the contraction and had everything ready for when I finished. It worked out perfect. But I totally understand what you went thru. When I had to push they basically shut no epidural drip off so I could feel everything to push and I p usher for over 3 hours!! And had thee hardest time ever pushing her head out. She kept crowning and then I ran out of breath and lost that contraction so she would go back in. For about a good half hour that kept happening. I was so tired, so exhausted, and it's hurt like **** and burnt like no tomorrow and like nothing I ever felt before. I almost gave up because the pain was unbearable but they said they would have to use the vacuum or forceps and there was a chance of internal bleeding so I gave all my darn might and pu shed threw it. I don't think I'll have another kid after all I went threw
@chadandtanya14 oh it was so bad. And when they gave me the epidural I was terrified because they stress so much that you shouldn't move but I'm in the middle of a contraction so all I can do is swear. I felt so bad for the poor nurse helping me. She was a fricking gem honestly
@mommy1991 damn girl I had the same thing! I had non of cramp like contractions and went into the bath because they were getting worse. In the bath they got so bad I couldn't breath and just cried thru every one of them and asked for the epidural right away too. I felt like I was going delusional by the time they put the epidural in. Hands down to mothers who do it naturally because ther3 is no way I could do it without the epidural either! I would say it was like a 12 out of 10 for sure!
@lex_6 oh you're lucky!! I wish my midwives supplied them. The pools are like 200+ on Amazon and I think it's just 100 cheaper to rent one. How did the pool maintenance work for you? Did you have to clean it out or did your midwives take care of that?
@lex_6 that is so inspiring! I hope my birth comes close to how yours was. I knew the water would help so much with the pain, and staying calm and relaxed too! Was the tub yours or did you rent or buy a birth pool? I'm not sure which one I should do
I was 4 days overdue my due date. Was in labor for 14 hours before my baby girl came into the world but 3 of those hours were excruciating as I couldn’t have my epidural til I was at least 4-5cm and they wanted me to walk around to speed it up. I finally got the epidural and the birth went so well. I give koodos to you women who do it natural without any drugs I know I couldn’t but bless you guys for doing it.
@ib.crazyskittles18 I wish I had a bath tub big enough! I am debating wether I should rent a pool or buy my own. Are you planning to have any aromatherapy or anything special like that for the due date?
This is all really good information thank you. I have a rocking chair I'll keep close by! Do you think you'll want another baby at some point? @mommy1991
@plumm it broke at the hospital. On the thrid day I think. Like in the afternoon. She was born at 1:24am. And when it broke people were in the room. Like my boyfriends family. I was in a rocking chair they had. They said that the movement could help. I literally said "either my water broke or I just peed." Infront of everyone. I leaked but not everything. Every time I moved a little more came out. But I think it helpped with the delivery that my water didn't just come out. Honestly I don't know if it's ever like a big puddle of fluid for anyone that just comes shooting out. Tv and movies make that look bigger than it really is.
@plumm honestly the actual real contraction were pretty bad. In the beginning it felt like cramps. I went into the bath which they suggested because I wasn't dialating. They only let you in for about 20 minutes at a time and before the 20 minutes was up I felt like an unhinging feeling. Like my cervix popped open. I had about 3 serious contractions on the walk back to my room. I was swearing the entire time. I asked for an epidural right away. Maybe I'm a baby. I don't know but it didn't feel good. For me it was a 10 out of 10.
@plumm I'm going to say that on a scale of 1-10 it was about a 3 for me. But everyone handles pain differently. I thought it was gonna be a 12 but it was way less bad than I thought
@plumm My doctor offered it more than once and I only did it once. Maybe I should have listened and done it more than once. I was scared of the pain but honestly it was nothing.
I was 2 weeks late and I was induced. Was in the hospital and in labour for 3 days before giving birth. I had to have my cervix opened up with a balloon and since I got an epidural after having about 6 or 7 real contractions that was the worst pain I've ever felt. So if you're strong enough to have a home birth drug free I say more power to you and I hooe you get exactly what you want and it's the moat amazing ime.
