My baby spent her first 48 hours in NICU due to Merconium. She had to have cpap and I was terrified, it really disrupted the bonding and feeding after birth.

Oh okay. Really it is a case by case basis. I dont want to say everything will be great because i dont know your medical circumstances. I would ask the doctor to be sure.
@beemommyof3, my dr is in a surgery so I haven’t talked to him about it yet but my nurse said it wasn’t much and not to worry but I don’t know if she is just trying to keep me calm bc I’m being induced due to high bp. Lol.
I had it, my baby was going into distress when i was in labor. But when it was time to deliver my baby there was a whole bunch of people from NICU in the room, just in case he didn’t come out “crying” & they were gonna take him. But thank God, Everything was fine. & the minute he came out, he was crying. So i guess it all really depends.
- They should find it before you deliver and do a saltwater flush to keep your baby from breathing it. If they don’t and your baby inhales it, the baby will be watched in the nicu on oxygen and flushed with antibiotics..
