My baby girl was diagnosed with bronchitis :( my son with double ear infection, and my ear almost ruptured this 3 day…

Noah had bronchitis twice. What did they give her for it?

@noahs.mommy, just the bring home breathing treatment that's a inhaler. How long did it take for it to get better?

@mumstasin, he took it for for 3 days then for 4 days 4 times a day then I slowly decreased it from there until he didn’t need it anymore and I took about a week to do that. He was also on a nebulizer and once that stopped working he used his inhaler only. When it came back he took it two puffs twice a day for about a weekly until he sounded okay again.

@noahs.mommy, yah that's what the doctor suggested for me too. I unfortunately need to work tomorrow, so I'll be leaving her in my mother in laws hands. I hope that she's better by this weekend.

@mumstasin, she should be MUCH better within the next couple of days the days after that will just be for getting it completely out of her system

Was your baby also eating less? My baby isn't as hungry either

@mumstasin, yeah he didn’t wanna eat at all and if he tries to he’d gag on it. He was 10 months old when he had it so he was eating more table food and mostly just wanted his baba because that’s all he could tolerate. It’s normal just make sure she doesn’t get dehydrated

@noahs.mommy, yah I'm feeding her right now. The doctor didn't seem too concerned about it. We have a follow up on Thursday.

@mumstasin, my dr didn’t either because I had told her he was still drinking his bottles fine which at the time was still formula and as long as he was getting that he was fine to not eat solids if he didn’t want to. By Thursday she should sound and feel so much better.

@noahs.mommy, I hope so! It's so scary when she coughs! Did your son have a fever?

@mumstasin, no and that was a good indication that it was viral and not an infection

@noahs.mommy, what's the difference between the two?

@noahs.mommy, I honestly don't know how she got it. We were all sick I the house but with ear infections. She has been congested but seemed to be improving until last Friday when she started having a horrendous cough :(

@mumstasin, viral infections can’t be fixed with antibiotics and bacterial infections can be. Bronchitis is viral and fevers usually indicate a bacteria is growing. You did you had ear infections those are a bacteria and you can’t pass along ear infections from person to person.

@mumstasin, idk how Noah got his either he was the only sick. In babies a common cold can be harder on them and can be harder for their bodies to get rid of all the mucus and crap that’s inside them. Is adults it’s easier for us because we can cough up all the mucus easier and we KNOW that we need to babies can’t cough and spit out the mucus like we can do it settles in their lungs.

@noahs.mommy, so did Noah stop coughing as much or how did he recover?

@mumstasin, he was still coughing at his follow up but his lungs weren’t rattling as bad and I mean I could feel his lungs rattling while holding him and by his follow up I couldn’t anymore. After that for the following week his cough slowed down/stopped and his breathing was normal again

@mumstasin, it did flare up again but I stuck with his inhaler for another week and slowly decreased the doses and how many times a day he got his inhaler over the week and he was fine again.

@noahs.mommy, okay. So far we are doing every 6 hours her inhaler. Tomorrow is her follow up. I'm hoping it's better. She has been eating more, but continues to have that scary cough. I'm hopping for her to be better by Saturday

@mumstasin, Did she get a breathing treatment in office?

@noahs.mommy, yes she did !

@mumstasin, did her lungs get listened to again? Noah did one in office too and he sounded significantly better after just 10 minutes. I’m confident she’ll be good by Monday

@noahs.mommy, I hope she's better by this Monday coming up! She's still congested and breathing hard. But her coughing is better.
